Full Job Description
Service Inventory Leader is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for managing global service inventory performance — ensuring on-time delivery (OTD) of service parts, driving inventory optimization by region, reducing scrap, and supporting service network efficiency across Distribution Centers, Depots, and forward stocking locations. This role serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for service parts inventory, partnering cross-functionally with Operations, regional Service teams, and warehouse operations to deliver measurable improvements in fill rates, working capital, and customer experience. As the function matures, there is opportunity to build and lead a small team. This position reports to the Director, Global Service Operations & Commercial Solutions. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: • Own total service inventory management by major geos/regions (Americas, EMEA, APAC, Japan), setting and maintaining stocking parameters, reorder points, and fill rate targets across the network. • Drive service scrap optimization, working very closely with Operations (LS and Dx), including ownership of global service returns policy, scrap classification accuracy, root cause analysis, and disposition standard work across all scrap sources (field returns, DC excess, cycle counts, in-transit). • Optimize the service distribution network across Distribution Centers, Depots, and FSE trunk stocks using data to right-size inventory at each node. • Own service parts OTD performance by major geo, identifying and resolving shortages, replenishment gaps, and planning inefficiencies in partnership with global sites and warehouse teams. • Apply industry best practices through key planning systems and processes, working closely with Operations and service teams and understanding voice-of-customer (VOC) to inform service part strategies. The essential requirements for the job include: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field. • 3-5 years in inventory management, service parts planning, or supply chain operations in a multi-site environment. • Working knowledge of ERP (Oracle) and CRM/field service platforms (ServiceMax or similar), including understanding of how inventory transactions, returns, and scrap flow between systems. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to move from analysis to action independently. Effective communicator who can influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority. • Experience in Service Inventory preferred. Travel Requirements: Ability to travel up to 20%, including overnight travel to Distribution Centers, regional depots, and global Operations sites. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: • CPIM certification or equivalent. • Experience applying Danaher Business System (DBS) tools (Daily Management, standard work, problem-solving). • Prior experience building a function or team from the ground up.
