Full Job Description
Global Payroll Manager

The Global Payroll Manager will be responsible for global payroll, which will include US, UK, Australia, Singapore and Canada, currently. This position will supervise three staff and will report into the Accounting organization. In addition to supervision and review of each payroll, this position will also be responsible for ensuring the company is following regulatory and statutory requirements such as filing of forms and returns pertaining to employee taxes, benefits and other compliance documents. This position will be a high visibility role within the organization and will be responsible for initiating and supporting projects to improve efficiency and accuracy of payroll processes. The global payroll manager will liaise with HR and accounting on a regular basis.

What you will do:

  • Ensure payroll is processed timely and accurately.
  • Supervise each payroll and ensure the work done by the payroll processors are reviewed.
  • Work with HR and external payroll service providers to streamline payroll processes.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes and practices and suggest steps to implement improvement plans.
  • Provide HR with necessary data and information for analysis, reporting and decision making.
  • Work with accounting to assist in improving quality and accuracy of data used in reporting and analysis of financial results relating to employee costs, which will include payroll and benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local government requirements and filings.
  • Be the primary contact for our global employee population when it comes to providing them information, guidance or communication relating to payroll matters.
  • Be the primary stakeholder in supporting projects that involve input from payroll, such as implementation of HRIS systems and benefits programs and policies.
  • Provide data needed for annual and periodic reporting that require disclosure of compensation information for company executives in our SEC filings.
  • Advise management on payroll and employee tax implications related to equity incentive plans, such as stock options, RSUs and ESPP.
  • Be the subject matter expert on payroll related matters on a global basis.
  • Implementation and ensuring execution of controls to support our SOX compliance in the payroll process.


What you will need:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in payroll, of which at least 5+ years of experience in a managerial capacity supervising payroll staff.
  • Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now (ADP - WFN).
  • Experience with working or supervising international payroll (UK, Australia, Singapore and Canada at present)
  • Experience being part of implementation of SOX controls in the payroll process.
  • Experience selecting and working with outside payroll service providers.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to perform strategic planning and set priorities for a payroll department.
  • Proven track record for improving processes and problem- solving.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to coach and motivate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, work with others and follow through to execute all tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with NetSuite will be a plus
  • Recent experience working in a dynamic fast-paced tech company environment will be a plus

Education
  • BS or BA degree in Accounting or equivalent required
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) by the American Payroll Association strongly preferred
