Job SummaryThe Director of Operational Excellence - Industrial Engineering (IE) leads global industrial engineering initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites for our client. This role partners with site-level IE leaders to drive manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency, and productivity through the implementation of standardized systems and best practices.
The Director is responsible for identifying bottlenecks across fabs, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and enhancing cycle time, on-time delivery, and throughput. This role also establishes global analytical models for capacity planning, KPI tracking, and Work-in-Process (WIP) management.
Key Responsibilities - Lead global Industrial Engineering (IE) strategy and initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites (fabs)
- Manage and facilitate the corporate IE Directors' forum
- Drive cross-functional global projects from planning through execution, including:
- OEE improvement
- Cost reduction and budget control
- WIP optimization
- Ergonomics and operator efficiency improvements
- CAPEX planning and management
- Develop and implement global operational procedures; ensure compliance across sites
- Lead corporate capacity planning and capacity management programs
- Identify manufacturing bottlenecks and implement data-driven solutions
- Establish and standardize analytical models for:
- KPI tracking
- Production planning
- WIP management
- Drive manufacturing excellence through benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across global, multi-cultural environments
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of industrial engineering experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience at the Director level or equivalent
- Strong expertise in manufacturing operations and industrial engineering methodologies
- Demonstrated experience leading global, cross-functional teams
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse, multi-cultural stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline
- Experience with optimization, tool modeling, and performance metrics
- Deep knowledge of Manufacturing Science concepts, including:
- Scheduling and dispatching
- Theory of Constraints (TOC)
- Lean manufacturing
- Push/Pull systems
- Inventory management
- Capacity planning
- Strong background in statistics and data analysis
