Job DescriptionAs the Property Tax Senior Associate for Compliance, you'll prepare property tax returns for your clients - all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. You'll collaborate with the Property Tax team and research and consult on various tax matters, while utilizing tax-related software to prepare and process returns, assessments, and tax bills, because together is how we succeed.

Your day-to-day may include:- Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex US property tax returns for various clients
- Review and validate assessment notices and reconcile against rendered values
- Assist and review in processing payment of property tax bills
- Correspond with clients and taxing jurisdictions to gather information necessary for work completion.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of property tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and effective advice to clients.
- Communicate effectively with teammates, clients, and taxing authorities in providing updates and answering any questions related to their property tax matters.
- Work closely with team members to promptly resolve client problems or tax issues encountered in the preparation process
- Gain understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives, and utilize that knowledge on engagements
- Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis
- Other duties as assigned
You have the following technical skills and qualifications:- Bachelor's degree required; Accounting degree preferred.
- Minimum two to six years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting
- CPA, JD, or Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation preferred
- Experience with property tax administration software such as PTMS and OneSource preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork and analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Can travel as needed
The base salary range for this position is between $101,200 and $129,300. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton's discretion, and it is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity. At Grant Thornton, compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
