WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAYAs a Global Health Specialist, you will:
- Advise CDC supervisors on developing justifications for establishment of overseas positions (NSDD38, details, workforce plans, etc.) and reviews proposals and requests for the deployment of overseas assignees to determine the best means of meeting requirements.
- Provide oversight and guidance to managers and staff on the deployment and support of overseas assignees; respond to questions on policy and regulatory issues; serve as the CDC/DHHS expert on overseas deployment; and advise on the benefits and entitlements accruing to overseas assignees.
- Coordinate with CDC and embassy officials on State Department procedures for embassy assignments, details, temporary duty assignments, and temporary station changes, and resolve issues by coordinating with management officials across agency and departmental lines.
This position has 20% supervisory duties. Candidates must also have demonstrated or shown the potential to develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. QualificationsWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORMinimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the
GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Executing workforce planning and global recruitment services for overseas positions, including advising management on recruitment strategies and staffing requirements.
- Providing information and guidance on policies governing CDC overseas assignments, including overseas employment, relocation, special entitlements, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), and Authorized and/or Ordered Departures.
- Collaborating with the Department of State, HHS Operating Divisions, and other interagency partners to resolve overseas employment and deployment issues.
