Full Job Description
Before the detail, here's the challenge you'd help us solve.

We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that.

Here's what this particular role covers.

About our Operations Enablement Teams

Our Operations Enablement teams design and implement the systems that ensure Wayve's on-road workforce-Vehicle Safety Operators and their support teams-are trained, certified, and developed to the highest global standards. Spanning the UK, US, Germany, and Japan, this team translates a unified global approach into regionally relevant and compliant operations. We drive excellence and consistency by building the structures that turn real-world insights into impactful and rapid upskilling for all operators, always with a clear focus on safety, readiness, and continuous improvement.

Your day-to-day

  • Lead and develop a globally distributed team of Regional Training Leads and Training Coordinators.
  • Define and continuously improve the global training architecture, including scalable curricula, onboarding pathways, and certification frameworks for all operational roles.
  • Own and update training strategy and standards across all operational geographies, ensuring local compliance and effective delivery.
  • Maintain the mechanism for converting operational insights, safety findings, and product changes into rapid training updates.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on key metrics that prove training effectiveness, readiness, and adherence-using this data to prioritise interventions.
  • Serve as the final gatekeeper to ensure operators meet all performance and safety thresholds prior to live on-road deployment.
  • Partner with Operations, Product, and Safety teams to ensure training aligns with business and operational needs.
  • Manage global certification and compliance record-keeping, ensuring audit-readiness across all regions.
  • Balance the need for a consistent global standard with regional flexibility to meet regulatory and market contexts.

What you'll be working on

  • Building a global training strategy, standard, and operating model that supports operational excellence.
  • Designing, deploying, and maintaining curricula, onboarding, and certification frameworks for both on-road and maintenance roles.
  • Implementing mechanisms for feedback-driven and product-driven training updates.
  • Establishing and owning the reporting infrastructure for training effectiveness, operator readiness, and compliance.
  • Developing and coaching your global team to consistently deliver against high standards while adapting to regional needs.
  • Ensuring operational readiness and safety for new operator cohorts prior to road deployment.
  • Driving cross-functional alignment with Operations, Product, and Safety stakeholders.
  • Managing certification and compliance records to rigorous global standards.

You should apply if

  • You have significant leadership experience in training, capability development, operations enablement, or workforce readiness-ideally within autonomous systems, mobility, robotics, aviation, defence, logistics, or other safety-critical domains.
  • You've built and led structured training programmes across multiple sites, regions, or countries.
  • You have demonstrated success designing scalable onboarding, certification, and recurrent training frameworks for operational roles.
  • You can translate operational, product, or safety requirements into practical training content, standards, and readiness criteria.
  • You have a strong track record of data-driven performance and quality improvement.
  • You thrive working cross-functionally to align training with business needs.
  • You have experience leading managers or senior individual contributors and setting direction for a globally distributed function.
  • You're analytical and comfortable working with data pipelines to drive insights, metrics, and reporting.

Desirable:
  • Experience in autonomous vehicles, transport, robotics, logistics, aviation, or defense.
  • Familiarity with certification, compliance record-keeping, and audit requirements for regulated or safety-critical environments.
  • Experience managing both contractors and full-time employees, including through transitions to FTE.

This is a full-time role based in our London or Sunnyvale offices, Monday to Friday, with responsibility for a division that operates seven days a week and occasional on-call duties.

Not ticking every box? That's totally okay! If you're passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement.

The Interview Process:

Our process is clear and respectful of your time:

Initial call / recruiter screen (30 mins)

Competency Interviews (2 hours total)

Deep-dive technical interviews (3 hours total)

Final interview: mission & values alignment (1 hour total)

We'll always explain the format and work around your availability.

What's in it for you (Location dependant):

Salaries benchmarked against the market annually
Meaningful equity, sharing in the ownership and long term success of Wayve
Relocation support and visa sponsorship where applicable
• Hybrid working, core hours and the chance to work hands on in vehicle workshops and labs
Learning and development budgets with support for training, conferences and growth
Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, retirement or pension where applicable, access to therapists, wellbeing partnerships, team socials and more

A quick, honest note before you apply.

Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you'll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one.

If that sounds like the kind of problem you want to spend your time on, we'd really like to hear from you.
