Group Summary:

The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Recognized globally as a leader in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna has a diverse portfolio spanning from fascias, trim, body panels, and liftgates to specialty products such as engineered glass, step assists, and sealings. Our skilled expertise in mold, paint and assembly can be seen in our manufacturing operations across the globe, which are well-positioned to support any customer. With our extensive understanding of the vehicle exterior, we are innovating the next generation of products through efficient processes, smarter materials, and a dedication to operational excellence.

Position Summary:

As a member of the Global Sales and Marketing Leadership Team, the Global Business Director is responsible for the overall sales / commercial strategy for a particular OEM(s) worldwide. This position is accountable to lead and execute the short & long-term strategy to grow profitable business with our OEM customer(s).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop Global Customer Growth & Profitability Strategies - Work with global members of Sales & Marketing, Business Development, Senior Management, Operations and other cross functions as required to drive the creation and implementation of an aligned growth & commercial strategy to increase market share and profitability for Magna Exteriors. Align our sales and product strategies to the technological / innovation needs of our worldwide customers.

2. Commercial Management - Responsible for all OEM related commercial activities / negotiations that are required for profitability and growth. This activity includes, but is not limited to, pricing negotiations, management of working capital and other relevant commercial issues including reporting of business performance metrics and other activities while maintaining productive working relationships with our customers.

3. Business Plan / Target Pursuit Management - Accountable for the business planning & target pursuits in coordination with the divisions, group management, sales, finance,

marketing, business development, and all cross functions. Ensure the target pursuit strategy delivers a competitive business case to grow profitable business with our customers.

4. Leadership Development and Organizational Structure -Attract, develop, and retain global talent to ensure a productive and proactive organizational structure is implemented for each region. Identify short and long-term development needs for all direct reports and provide senior oversight for the development activities. Strive to create an enthusiastic and productive work environment.

5. Leadership Support - Provide leadership to all direct reports, cross-functional leaders, and team members to ensure the achievement of all sales growth and profitability objectives for the regions / customer base. Ensure effective communication across all regions to align regional objectives to those of the corporation and our customers. Provide support for all program launches through the end of our contractual service obligations.

6. Quality and Voice of the Customer - Support and adhere to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines while providing support to resolving critical customer quality, warranty, or other concerns impacting the customer relationship.

7. Compliance -Ensure adherence to all corporate compliance directives through effective training, communication, measurement, and Compliance Committee activities.

8. Managerial Supervisory Responsibilities - Carry out all management responsibilities in accordance with Magna's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include staffing, employee development and succession planning; strategy planning and assigning/directing work; performance management of employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education/Skills/Special Knowledge -
• Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.
• Automotive sales experience with Japanese OEMs.
• Strong automotive sales or business development background with minimum 5-7 years of domestic and international sales experience with proven track record in developing regional / global sales strategies and building a world-class sales organization.
• Minimum of 3-5 years' management experience leading and developing a team.
• Demonstrated success in satisfying OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers in a complex, competitive automotive market. Must welcome responsibility, challenges and decision making. Broad functional experience in areas of strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and sales planning and promotions.
• Professional international experience is preferred; Japanese language skills are an asset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, emphasizing interpersonal, group presentation, and team facilitation skills across cultures.
• Strong analytical skills and computer skills are required for budget, business plan forecasting, and business case analyses.

Physical Demands/Work Environment -
• This position is based out of the Troy, MI Office.
• Office/plant environment with 25-40% travel required to Magna offices/factories and customer locations located regionally and internationally.
• Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local, domestic, and international travel. Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
