GIS Discipline Manager

Compensation: $110,000 / year

Description

The GIS Discipline Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the GIS department within our engineering firm. This position involves managing a team of GIS professionals, overseeing projects related to asset management, and ensuring the effective utilization of the latest ArcGIS technology. The GIS Discipline Manager collaborates with senior management to align GIS strategies with the company's objectives and serves as a key point of contact for GIS-related matters.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and manage the GIS department, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation of GIS staff.
  2. Develop and implement GIS strategies to support asset management initiatives within the organization.
  3. Collaborate with senior management to integrate GIS technology into business processes and decision-making.
  4. Oversee the planning and execution of GIS projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  5. Stay updated with the latest ArcGIS technology trends and advancements, and recommend appropriate tools and solutions for project requirements.
  6. Provide technical expertise and guidance on ArcGIS Online technology and ArcGIS Enterprise implementations.
  7. Foster collaboration among various disciplines within the engineering firm to maximize the utilization of GIS across different projects.
  8. Serve as a liaison between the GIS department and other departments, facilitating communication and coordination.
  9. Ensure compliance with data standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements in GIS operations.

  11. Represent the GIS department in client meetings, conferences, and industry events to showcase capabilities and foster partnerships.
  12. Maintain strong relationships with software vendors, consultants, and other external stakeholders to leverage expertise and resources as needed.


What you'll need
