Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing team!

This position will serve as a lead technical engineer and project manager on a wide variety of geotechnical projects, ranging from small commercial developments to large-scale infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical geotechnical knowledge, writing skills, experience managing subsurface exploration programs, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through completion.
  • Direct subsurface exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, field observations, and coordination with the drilling team.
  • Prepare and review geotechnical engineering reports with an emphasis on foundation design recommendations and earthwork considerations.
  • Perform engineering analyses related to shallow and deep foundations, retaining walls, slopes, pavements, and site development.
  • Serve as Project Manager for a diverse range of projects, including:
    • Commercial and industrial developments
    • Small one-story to heavily loaded multi-story structures
    • Bridges
    • Infrastructure improvements
    • Retaining walls and slope stability evaluations
    • Educational facilities and schools
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and other design professionals throughout project execution.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and technical expertise.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.
  • Participate in business development activities and support proposal preparation.


Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field required.

  • Demonstrated experience in foundation design and geotechnical analyses.
  • Proven project management experience on a variety of project types and sizes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with geotechnical engineering software, slope stability/foundation analysis programs, and advanced soil testing software.
  • Knowledge of local geology and construction practices.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination efforts.
