Your Key Responsibilities What You'll Do:
Our geotechnical practitioners work collaboratively to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients and communities on unique projects Nationally and Globally. As an intermediate geotechnical engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support the design, analysis, and construction of all types of infrastructure, dams, and mining projects across Canada.
- Carry out complex numerical analysis using state of the practice software (FLAC 2D/3D, PLAXIS 2D/3D, etc.)
- Work with geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities.
- Mentor colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives.
- Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, market research, and the development of emerging technologies, with a focus on climate change adaptation, risk, and liability reduction.
Education and Experience
What We're Looking For:
- Master's degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (PhD an asset).
- 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experienced in numerical modelling, focused on geotechnical engineering solutions
- Knowledge of relevant British Columbia and Canadian codes, guidelines and standards.
- Experience with standard geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience).
- Experience with advanced geotechnical software solutions (FLAC/Plaxis).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proactive approach and strong problem-solving skills.
- Passion for making a positive impact through engineering.
- Effective communication skills, including report writing and client engagement.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement and mentorship of developing engineers.
- Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship. Active participation in professional associations and technical communities is an asset.

Pay Range:• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$96,500.00 - $139,900.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
