Your Opportunity

Our dam practitioners work collaboratively to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients and communities on unique dam, reservoir, and hydropower projects Nationally and Globally. As an intermediate geotechnical engineer, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Support the design, analysis, and construction of dams, reservoirs, dykes, spillways, and hydropower projects across Canada.
  • Conduct Dam Safety Reviews and inspections in accordance with Canadian Dam Association Guidelines, with opportunities for short-duration travel within Canada.
  • Manage and coordinate geotechnical-focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with your experience and capabilities.
  • Mentor and be mentored by colleagues across a breadth of experience fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.
  • Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, market research, and the development of emerging technologies, with a focus on climate change adaptation, risk and liability reduction, and aging dams.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's or PhD an asset).
  • 7+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in dam engineering, dam safety, geotechnical design, and/or dam construction.
  • Knowledge of relevant Canadian and global dam guidelines and standards.
  • General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience).
  • Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently and on a team.
  • Active participation in professional associations and technical communities is an asset.

Pay Range:
• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$105,400.00 - $158,100.00 Annually
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$111,700.00 - $167,600.00 Annually
• $118,000.00 - $177,100.00 Annually

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
