In Atlantic Canada, our Geotechnical Group within the Project Delivery Group (PDG) plays a critical role in delivering projects from early studies through to construction and operation.

We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer who is technically strong, curious, and motivated to grow - someone who wants to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects while learning from experienced industry leaders.

Your role

As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will contribute to the analysis, design, and delivery of geotechnical solutions across a range of projects.

You will play an active role in field programs, technical design, and project execution, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams locally and globally.

Your responsibilities

1. Field Investigations & Site Characterization
  • Scope, plan, and manage geotechnical site investigations
  • Oversee field programs and ensure quality of data collection and execution
  • Develop site characterization reports and document subsurface conditions
  • Interpret field and laboratory data to support project decisions


2. Geotechnical Analysis & Design
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and design for:
    • shallow and deep foundations
    • retaining structures
    • embankments and slopes (cut/fill)
    • ground improvement systems
  • Develop 2D and 3D numerical models using industry software
  • Contribute to specialized studies (e.g., dam safety, DSRs, DSIs, breach analysis) where applicable
  • Ensure designs align with project requirements, codes, and best practices


3. Engineering Deliverables & Technical Reporting
  • Prepare technical reports, design memoranda, and specifications
  • Produce clear, concise, and high-quality documentation for clients and project teams
  • Contribute to the development of engineering deliverables across project phases
  • Participate in peer reviews and ensure technical quality


4. Project Delivery & Coordination
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental, and construction disciplines
  • Support the development of project execution plans and schedules
  • Contribute to efficient and timely project delivery
  • Interface with internal stakeholders and external partners


5. Leadership, Mentorship & Business Support
  • Review work of junior engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship
  • Support proposal development and business development initiatives
  • Build and maintain client relationships
  • Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement


What you bring
