Job DescriptionReady to put your geospatial expertise to work? Dewberry is seeking a Geospatial Analyst III to join our Geospatial Solutions and Analytics team in Fairfax, VA. In this role, you'll work hands-on with spatial data, analysis, and technology to solve complex challenges for federal, state, and local clients. You'll have the opportunity to independently tackle technical assignments, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, support clients throughout project delivery, and contribute to innovative geospatial solutions that make a difference.
This requires at least 3 days in-office presence in Dewberry’s Fairfax, VA headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Perform spatial analyses using Esri software to support planning, emergency management, engineering, asset management, environmental, utility, and infrastructure projects.
- Develop maps, dashboards, and data visualizations that communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Conduct network, proximity, suitability, spatial statistics, and geoprocessing analyses.
- Support GIS-based decision-making through data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Work extensively with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online (AGOL), ArcGIS Enterprise, Survey123, Field Maps, Experience Builder, Dashboards, and related Esri applications.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize GIS databases, feature services, web maps, applications, and data workflows within ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online environments.
- Collaborate with GIS developers, system administrators, and project teams to design, implement, and enhance geospatial solutions that meet client and project requirements.
- Act as a technical lead for assigned tasks, interface directly with clients, provide project status updates, and review work products to ensure quality and technical accuracy.
Additional Responsibilities
- Plan and execute geospatial tasks and project workstreams with minimal supervision, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of GIS datasets, analyses, maps, applications, and deliverables prepared by other team members.
- Troubleshoot complex GIS data, application, and workflow issues and develop effective solutions.
- Develop and document repeatable geospatial workflows, standards, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Work directly with clients to gather requirements, provide project updates, review deliverables, and support decision-making.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior GIS professionals and assist with knowledge sharing across project teams.
- Support proposal development, technical approaches, and project planning activities as needed.
- Evaluate emerging geospatial technologies and recommend improvements that enhance project delivery and client outcomes.
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, GIS or other relevant geospatial or data science related field.
- At least five years experience working with Esri technology, particularly with Esri's AGOL tools such as Experience Builder, Dashboard, and Hub.
- Ability to work independently using strong organizational skills and operate effectively in team settings using an agile software development approach.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform products is helpful.

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $77,000-$99,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
