Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada's largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos' foundation for growth for many years to come. Join Us as a Core Logging Geologist!Are you passionate about geology and eager to build your career in a high-performing underground mining environment? Role OverviewAs Core Logging Geologist, reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, you will assist in multiple areas of the Geology Department. In this role, you will support definition and exploration drilling programs through core logging, sampling, photography, and related geological activities that contribute to operational and exploration success.
Key Responsibilities- Log definition and exploration diamond drill core.
- Assist with the planning and implementation of drilling programs.
- Complete core sampling activities accurately and efficiently.
- Perform core photography and maintain organized geological records.
What You Bring to the Table- BSc in Geology from a recognized Canadian university or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of industry experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Vulcan, or other geological software.
- Exposure to DHlogger and Fusion software is considered an asset.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license.
