The
Geotech will be responsible for data and project management associated with the Permian geoscience team and Permian asset team. In addition, the candidate will collaborate across disciplines to ensure data integration throughout the organization. The position is directly responsible for data quality control, managing databases, support of GIS mapping and analysis, and delivery of files, reports and analysis to support technical work within the geoscience team as well as supporting daily oil & gas operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide technical support and best workflow practices for geoscientists that generate, high-grade, and drill oil and gas opportunities
- Work together with Crescent's technicians and analysts to ensure consistent data management across disciplines and asset teams.
- Create and manage well and seismic projects and ensure geoscience staff are accessing current and accurate data
- Import/Export and quality control of seismic, well, and culture data to and from various applications; syncing data across projects and systems.
- Able to navigate government and industry databases to ensure high quality data are provided to geoscientists across the Permian.
- GIS software application support, assisting teams with generating maps and managing and visualizing spatial data
- Keeps supervisor informed of progress and may recommend procedural/operational changes
- Establishes and maintains highly confidential record files for reference use
- Orders or downloads logs and other records
- Interaction with operations to collect and archive all final well data
- Accumulates and analyzes data for reports, makes log cross sections
- Transfers and loads digital log and map data
- Makes computations and calculations to assist geologists in their analysis
- Assists geologists in the preparation of various reports, plans and budgets
- Ensures timely completion and accuracy of assigned projects
QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, Licensure- Bachelor's Degree
- 5+ Years of oil & gas industry experience
- Experience with Kingdom (required) and Petra (preferred) software packages
- Experience supporting geophysical data management
- Proficiency with O&G data sources like IHS, Enverus and TGS
- Familiarity with public data sources, including state and federal data in both Texas and New Mexico
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Possess valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company's Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle
Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure- B.S./B.A. Degree in math, science or related field
- Significant experience with an E&P Company engaged in unconventional resource development
- Proficiency in project and database management
- GIS knowledge and experience, specifically QGIS software
- Oil & gas data analysis and interpretation
- Familiarity with Spotfire and/or Power BI
- Development planning and/or operations experience is a plus
