Position: Generator Field Supervisor
Location: Buffalo and surrounding areas, NY
Compensation: $36 - $42/hour, based on experience
What We Are Looking ForThe Generator Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing generator installation and service operations, coordinating field personnel, managing inventory, and supporting project execution. This role serves as a key link between the sales team, field technicians, vendors, and internal operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The Generator Field Supervisor also assists with employee training, inventory control, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
What You Will Do- Review upcoming projects in collaboration with the sales team and assign appropriate field personnel based on project requirements and workforce availability.
- Coordinate and prepare materials, equipment, and labor resources for upcoming jobs.
- Assist with generator and transfer switch installations, maintenance, and field service activities as needed.
- Provide on-site support to technicians to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and efficient project completion.
- Monitor project progress and address operational challenges in the field.
- Manage inventory levels of generators, transfer switches, and related equipment.
- Coordinate equipment placement, delivery, pickup, and replenishment orders as necessary.
- Refine and maintain Commercial Pipe Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) by reviewing quantities, identifying unused materials, and optimizing stock levels.
- Collaborate with operations manager and other team members to develop and implement an organized inventory management system for electrical supplies.
- Ensure inventory records remain accurate and up to date.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Coordinate material procurement and ensure timely delivery of required equipment and supplies.
- Work with vendors to resolve supply issues and support operational needs.
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
- Identify skill gaps and help provide technical and operational training as needed.
- Promote safe work practices and company standards throughout the field team.

What You Will Need - Minimum of 5 years of experience in generator installation, service, maintenance, or a related electrical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading, supervising, or coordinating field personnel.
- Strong knowledge of standby generators, transfer switches, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects, scheduling labor resources, and managing field operations.
- Experience with inventory management, material procurement, and vendor relationships preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with applicable OSHA regulations, electrical codes, and safety requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field service or project management software preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required.
