What you'll bring:- Two year technical degree with related electronics/electrical technologies and microprocessors coursework PLUS eight years or more related experience
OR - A job related vocational technical institute certificate, and/or equivalent completed coursework in electronics or instrumentation and controls PLUS eight years or more related experience
OR - Two year electrical maintenance degree PLUS eight years or more experience in the Instrument and Controls field

What you'll do:- Lead administration and continuous improvement of CEMS and PLC systems across Minnesota Power's generation fleet, ensuring reliability, consistency, and standardization.
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, maintenance, environmental and IT teams.
- Serve as the primary owner of either CEMS or PLC systems, providing subject matter expertise while partnering closely to support both platforms and ensure coverage during peak workloads, projects, or absences.
- Support regulatory compliance and environmental systems.
- Develop and manage 10-year replacement planning and budgeting for CEMS and PLC equipment, including lifecycle forecasting and capital investment prioritization.
- Manage spare parts inventory, vendor coordination, and service contracts to support system reliability.
- Serve as a technical resource for advanced troubleshooting, system upgrades, and capital projects involving control systems, networks, and HMI platforms.
- Maintain and govern system standards, documentation, and version control, ensuring accuracy and alignment across sites.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and cybersecurity requirements, identifying risks and supporting mitigation efforts.
- Oversee the performance and integrity of data acquisition systems (DAHS), including system health checks and data quality assurance.
- Coordinate training, knowledge sharing, and technical support for plant personnel and I&C technicians.
- Provide cross-functional support and serve as a backup to the DCS Administrator.
The expected annual compensation range for this position is $94,000 - $117,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
