Full Job Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Minimally Invasive Surgery, seeks a full-time Clinical Associate. This is a one-year non-renewable transitional training position for an individual who has completed general surgery residency and seeks additional operative experience and mentorship before independent practice or fellowship. The position provides broad exposure to general surgery, including elective and acute care cases, with graduated autonomy in the operating room and clinic. The practice location for this position will primarily be within the southern suburbs at the UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital and in Hyde Park. This position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in General Surgery or equivalent.
