We are looking for a driven
General Supervisor(with California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License) to support UNITY, the only non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) that can detect inherited disorders such as sickle cell disease, spinal muscular atrophy, and cystic fibrosis in the baby directly from maternal blood. These disorders are extremely severe, but early detection and intervention can significantly improve outcomes. You will lead and oversee our growing superstar CLIA team responsible for pregnancy blood sample processing in a high complexity, high-growth CLIA setting. The General Supervisor is an onsite position and reports to the Director of Laboratory Operations.
Shift Hours: Mon-Fri PM
- Weekday PM, 20% differential
Responsibilities:- Lead clinical laboratory daily supervision in alignment with company values and mission
- Hold General Supervisor delegation and responsibilities including oversight and support of day-to-day operations (Pre-analytical and Analytical), scheduling, and troubleshooting
- Manage CLIA direct reports including licensed and/or unlicensed staff (CLS, Clinical Laboratory Assistants)
- Oversee continuous process improvement projects including reagent quality control, tech transfer, troubleshooting, training, and validations
- Facilitate communication between laboratory teams and other departments or stakeholders
- Participate in recruiting efforts and hiring to meet sample volume demands
- Foster a collaborative team environment for continuous growth and building skillsets
- Partial owner of and leading execution of company objectives and key results
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in the chemical, physical or biological sciences
- Current or previous supervisory experience that includes direct supervision of lab staff
- Minimum of 4-5 years of CLS experience in a clinical setting (molecular and/or high-complexity laboratory experience preferred)
- A current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License that meets requirements for Testing Personnel under CLIA regulations (42 CFR, part 493) (ASCP, CGMBS or generalist license is required)
- Hands-on training and experience with manual molecular biology protocols, including DNA extraction, PCR, and automated liquid handlers
- Advanced knowledge of Google Docs, Word, Excel, basic statistics and familiarity with LIMS systems and Next-Generation Sequencing
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work flexibly and well under given timeframes
- Self-starter and dynamic team player with excellent verbal and written skills
Nice-To-Haves:- Previous CLIA General Supervisor experience

- Experience in a cell-free DNA setting

For this position, we offer a total compensation package of $263,772 per year, including a base pay range (inclusive of shift differential) of $192,932 - $218,657 per year.
