Position Summary: The General Superintendent is primarily responsible for the field operations. The General Superintendent should have knowledge of both company policies and government regulations to ensure proper appraisal and discipline of employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Ensure that employees are properly placed in jobs that match their capabilities.
- Check, measure, and correct average labor rates on their jobs to ensure labor meets budgets.
- Review job setups prior to start date to ensure budget and schedule manpower appropriately.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure workmanship conforms to job specifications and meets SPS quality standards.
- Hire, fire, and supervise field employees.
- Promote, demote, and review employees for raises and reductions in pay.
- Enforce company policies at all times.
- Approve subcontractor's pay applications and verify footage.
- Hire and schedule subcontractor work when necessary including setting unit prices.
- Ensure break times for employees are taken appropriately.
- Address and handle job site problems and attend job meetings.
- Train Foreman for all policies including "10 Criteria" and "Two-Week Look Ahead".
- Maintain positive customer relations.
- Keep company truck clean and maintained properly.
- Promote quality and service to our customers.
- Assist Estimators and Project Managers in pricing special conditions and change orders.
- Obtain equipment as needed in the field.
- Attend production meetings with job status reports.
- Obtain field dimensions for job layout.
- Direct and oversee subcontractors.
- Establish and train in-house SPS install crews.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications- Education/Experience: Prefer a minimum of a high school degree and 5-10 years minimum experience.
- Specific Skills: Strong Interpersonal communication skills to develop strong relationships with our customers and branch team.
- License, Certifications, or Registrations: Prefer OSHA 10 certification.

Work Environment / Working ConditionsEmployee will work in a warehouse/office/field environment. The noise level is usually low to moderate and could be high while encountering field operations.
