Full Job Description
Position Overview: The General Superintendent is responsible for the daily field construction of the project, ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, schedules and cost estimates by overseeing all field activities and providing direction to field construction professional and technical personnel and subcontractors.
Essential Duties:
Supervises and directs the daily efforts of the physical construction, coordinating the efforts of Discipline Superintendents, sub-contractors and other construction professional and technical personnel
Approve or authorize the coordination of craft personnel, material and equipment needed to meet schedules
Directly support project and construction management with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for all construction activities
Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options. Recommend/ Implement appropriate course of action
Assures all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is compliant with all pertinent requirements
Provides an environment for the development and advancement of project personnel, including providing on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities
Craft certification, training, experience and technical knowledge appropriate for assignment scope.
Work within company policies (including Safety and Human Resources policies), client policy and OSHA safety requirements.
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local, state and federal statutes and guidelines

Qualifications:

Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.

Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
