Job Summary

The General Sales Manager (GSM) at Central Houston Cadillac is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire vehicle sales operation, including new Cadillac inventory, pre-owned vehicles, and the Finance and Insurance (F&I) department. Reporting directly to the Platform President or General Manager, the GSM drives dealership profitability, manages inventory levels, and fosters a high-performing sales culture. The ideal candidate will manage, train, and direct the sales teams to achieve targeted volume and gross profit objectives while maintaining an elite tier of customer satisfaction that aligns with the Cadillac luxury brand.

Core Responsibilities
  • Sales Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and mentor department Sales Managers (New and Pre-Owned) and sales consultants. Lead weekly and monthly sales meetings to establish performance metrics and sales strategies.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Collaborate with upper management to project monthly, quarterly, and annual sales volume, gross profit margin, and operational expenses.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor luxury vehicle turn rates, dictate appropriate trade-in pricing, and manage ordering pipelines for new vehicle configurations alongside the Inventory Manager.
  • F&I Oversight: Coordinate with the Finance Director to structure complex deals, ensure lending compliance, and maximize back-end product penetration (warranties, gap insurance).
  • Customer Experience: Track Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) scores and actively resolve high-level client concerns to protect dealership reputation.
  • Marketing Strategy: Work alongside promotional teams to develop high-impact luxury vehicle incentives, local digital marketing campaigns, and showroom floor layouts.


Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of automotive sales management experience, preferably in a high-volume dealership or a luxury automotive brand environment.
  • Track Record: Proven success meeting or exceeding financial goals, managing multi-department margins, and leading high-performing sales teams.
  • Tech Proficiency: Mastery of dealership Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, inventory tools (e.g., vAuto), and standard electronic communications.
  • Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and an execution-focused demeanor suitable for high-end luxury client interactions.
  • Licenses: A valid in-state driver's license with an acceptable driving record and eligibility for a Houston Sales License.
