General Manager - Corporate Partnerships (University of Portland)

As a representative supporting University of Portland, the General Manager will build and maintain strong relationships with local and regional businesses, the campus community, and the athletics department.

This role is embedded within University of Portland. The General Manager will represent the University's brand, values, and mission in all interactions with corporate partners, sponsors, and the broader community.

The position is responsible for driving revenue through corporate partnerships, growing existing sponsor relationships, and identifying new business opportunities that align with the University's brand and market presence.

The General Manager will prepare and deliver high-quality, story-driven proposals, negotiate sponsorship agreements, and oversee the execution of partnership benefits across a wide range of platforms, including broadcast, digital, in-venue, and experiential channels.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee overall revenue generation and cost containment for the business operation
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with local and regional businesses, the campus community, and the athletics department in a manner consistent with the University's brand and values
  • Develop and implement an annual business plan to maximize revenue, brand exposure, and partner value
  • Manage expenses according to an approved annual budget
  • Oversee sponsorship fulfillment and execution, including direct client service responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for current sponsors, working to extend and grow partnerships
  • Manage reporting of financial and operational performance for the program
  • Maintain alignment with the University's direction, mission, and goals through internal communication
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key University administrators
  • Prospect, schedule, and conduct discovery meetings with prospective partners
  • Prepare and present professional, story-driven PowerPoint proposals
  • Negotiate and close new sponsorship agreements
  • Draft, coordinate, and manage sponsorship contracts and records in the CRM system (Salesforce)
  • Fulfill sponsorship agreements across platforms, including TV, radio, digital, social media, print, and live event activations
  • Collaborate with team members on game days for sponsor activations and hospitality
  • Capture proof-of-performance and provide reporting to sponsors
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity tracking in Salesforce
