Role Overview and Responsibilities

As our General Manager, you're responsible for leading the site as a standalone business unit, with full accountability for performance, people, and long-term success. This includes ownership of the site's profit and loss, driving sustainable growth, and ensuring effective leadership across all operational and support functions.

Reporting to the EVP Power (Divisional Lead), the General Manager leads site performance through robust Monthly Business Reviews, bi-annual Talent Reviews, and the development and delivery of a clear Strategic Growth Plan. The role includes presenting strategy, performance, and risks to Board-level stakeholders.

As a key member of the Divisional Leadership Team, the General Manager works collaboratively across UK and US sites to identify opportunities, deliver multi-site customer solutions, and contribute to the broader direction of the business, while continuously improving site performance.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Full General Management responsibility for the site, with accountability for P&L performance, growth, and overall business health.
  • Accountability for Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance, ensuring a safe, compliant, and continuously improving working environment.
  • Lead site operations and teams to deliver aligned, high-performance outcomes.
  • Build leadership capability and drive a culture of lean and continuous improvement alongside safety-first excellence.
  • Effective stakeholder relationship management. Notably nurturing senior customer relationships whilst enhancing customer experience and outcomes.
  • Set the direction and pace of the site through clear goals, strong leadership, and a focus on delivery.
  • Development and execution of the site's strategic growth plan, aligned to divisional and group objectives.
  • Lead Monthly Business Reviews and bi-annual Site Talent Reviews.
  • Ensure effective site controls and governance to enable effective risk management across key areas such as HSE, contracts and operations.
  • Active participation in the UK and US divisional leadership team, contributing to wider business strategy and decision-making, collaborating across sites to identify and deliver multi-site customer solutions.
  • Ownership of capital expenditure (Capex) planning, budgeting, and approval processes, ensuring appropriate investment in safety, compliance, and growth.
  • The senior point of accountability for all site activities, decisions, and outcomes.


Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

What we're looking for:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience (business, engineering, operations, or related field.)
  • Considerable experience in a General Manager or senior leadership role with full business unit accountability.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including ownership of P&L and budgeting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi-functional teams within an operational environment, delivering business growth and operational improvement.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic plans.
  • Sound knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and best practice, NEBOSH is desirable.
  • Experience managing capital expenditure (Capex) and investment planning.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience engaging at senior level.


This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which means that limitations relating to nationality may apply.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Pay Range: $200,000 - $250,000, with annual bonus potential.
