General Manager, Trucks Division

Reports to: Executive Vice President

SUMMARY:

The Satellite Trucks General Manager plays a key leadership role at Satellite. This position directs, manages, and optimizes the overall operations and financial performance (P&L) of the business unit according to company policy and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for manufacturing operations, policy and procedures, production goals, and fostering a well-trained and motivated staff
• Implements policies and procedures that guide plant operations' productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
• Systematically collects operational metrics to analyze productivity and set performance targets to meet revenue and cost goals
• Supports the development and deployment of manufacturing practices focused on quality and continuous improvement
• Ensures robust plant safety and security inspections, auditing, and training procedures are implemented to meet regulatory requirements including: OSHA, DOT, EPA
• Oversees multi-functional plant teams including production, warehouse, operations, and logistics
• Directs the implementation of process improvement initiatives including, but not limited to, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, SOP development and tracking, and site tiger teams
• Directs the management of leadership team to ensure business unit success
• Confer with matrixed department heads to ensure coordination of the full order to ship lifecycle
• Warranty and post-delivery repair experience
• Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the direction and management of all subordinate leadership and teams in a manner consistent with, and within Satellite policies and Satellite Circle of Culture

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
• Education: Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing Green or Black Belt required
• Experience: Direction of plant operations requires significant manufacturing knowledge as well as advanced interpersonal and supervisory skills. This is normally acquired by ten or more years of manufacturing managerial experience
• Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental functions

Must be able to perform physical and mental tasks associated within a manufacturing environment.
