The General Manager is the link between the local branch and the national organization. As such, the employee in this role is involved in both spheres. At the local level, the General Manager takes all responsibility for everything that happens at the branch. The GM works to develop excellence in the staff and build the satisfaction of Rentex's customers. The GM is responsible for all financial aspects of the branch and deals with facilities and security. Industry experience, management skills and life experience are required to spot future issues and resolve them before they become problems. The General Manager protects the business and always acts with good judgement on behalf of the business.
Supervisory Responsibilities:This position may directly supervise up to 5 employees, each of whom are managing multiple employees. This responsibility includes providing regular direction on work, holding individuals accountable for their specific results, coaching, and developing the skills of managers. This also includes interviewing, hiring, onboarding, time & attendance, performance reviews, improvement plans, and termination. The General Manager works in collaboration with the Operations Manager and QC Manager to screen/interview/hire hourly warehouse employees
Duties and Other Responsibilities:- Coaches and develops employees as they lead and develop the rest of the team.
- Ensure the business at your assigned location runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Supports a culture that fosters a collaborative and inclusive environment.
- Works with the Vice President of Operations and their Director of Operations to ensure the success of the branch.
- Takes the highest level of ownership in every facet of their Rentex branch.
- Highly focused on strategy, future goals, and financial prudence.
- Diagnose and resolve current problems, predict and prevent future problems, and create excellence at every level of the branch.
- Represents the larger organization to the local staff.
- Increase the reputation of the company among the operations team at the branch and support national directives that affect the branch.
- Attentive to what is best for the branch and what is best for the company at large.
- Actively participates in national dialog, contributes expertise and time to special projects outside his/her branch, and supports national initiatives and company-wide direction.
- Commits to the larger effort and national vision by fostering loyalty to the wider company and not just the local branch or management team.

Work Environment This job is operated in a warehouse environment.

Preferred Education and Experience - 4-year college degree or equivalent experience in the AV, event production or related fields.
- At least 3 years of experience in AV, event production, or related field.
