The General Manager will provide overall leadership for Hart Passivation, with responsibility for business performance, safety, employees, customer relationships, estimating, strategic growth, and the overall success of the operation.
The General Manager will work closely with and shadow the current Vice President to develop a comprehensive understanding of Hart Passivation's technical processes, customers, estimating practices, and operations.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Operations Manager, who will oversee day-to-day field operations, crew readiness, equipment, vehicles, inventory, and operational coordination.
  • Ensure projects are properly planned, staffed, supported, and completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of safety, regulatory compliance, quality standards, and operational performance.
  • Conduct and/or oversee project site surveys, estimating, pricing, proposals, and project planning.
  • Monitor project costs, margins, workload, staffing needs, and overall financial and operational performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers and serve as a senior point of contact for key accounts.
  • Lead sales, business development, and growth initiatives while identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships and services.
  • Identify and support improvements to business processes, technology, documentation, and organizational efficiency.
  • Lead employee development, performance management, workforce planning, and succession planning in partnership with the Operations Manager and Hart Companies leadership.
  • Maintain appropriate involvement in field activities and customer sites to develop and retain a practical understanding of Hart Passivation's work.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of leadership experience in a technically complex field-service, specialty contracting, industrial services, mechanical contracting, process systems, construction, or related environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading people, projects, customers, and business operations.
  • Strong business and financial judgment with an understanding of estimating, project costs, pricing, margins, and profitability.
  • Ability and willingness to learn Hart Passivation's specialized technical processes and regulated customer requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations and maintain visibility in both office and field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:

  • Life sciences construction, commissioning, or validation
IDEAL LEADERSHIP PROFILE
The successful candidate will be a hands-on, commercially minded leader who is technically curious, comfortable working with field personnel and customers, and capable of learning a highly specialized business. This individual should be able to lead through others, developing and supporting the Operations Manager and field leadership team while maintaining accountability for overall business performance.
The General Manager will build on the strengths of Hart Passivation's business and long-standing customer relationships while identifying opportunities to develop the team, improve operations, and support continued growth.
