Description

Position Summary:

ERock is seeking a highly hands-on and operationally driven manufacturing leader to oversee and grow its Houston manufacturing operations as a General Manager, Manufacturing Operations. This role will lead day-to-day production activities supporting the company's engine and generator packaging business while driving operational discipline, production execution, workforce leadership, and continuous improvement across the facility.

This is not a purely executive or high-level strategic leadership role. The ideal candidate will be deeply engaged in the daily operations of the manufacturing floor, working closely with supervisors, fabrication teams, assembly technicians, testing personnel, and cross-functional support teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production execution.

The General Manager will serve as the operational leader for the Houston site and will be responsible for building scalable manufacturing processes, improving throughput, strengthening accountability, and developing a strong production culture capable of supporting the company's continued growth. This individual must be comfortable balancing tactical execution with longer-term operational planning and process improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will bring a strong manufacturing background with the ability to lead from the floor, solve problems in real time, support supervisors and frontline teams, and drive operational results through direct involvement and visible leadership presence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of ERock's Houston manufacturing and production facility.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor, working directly with supervisors, leads, and technicians to drive execution, accountability, safety, and productivity.
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, scheduling, and manufacturing support activities.
  • Monitor production schedules, staffing needs, workflow bottlenecks, and operational priorities to ensure on-time delivery and efficient execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, labor efficiency, and production reliability.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Project Management, and Quality teams to resolve operational issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement practical process improvements that support scalable and repeatable production operations.
  • Coach and develop supervisors and frontline production leadership while building a strong culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards across all manufacturing activities.
  • Support hiring, workforce planning, employee development, and performance management for manufacturing teams.
  • Track and manage operational metrics including productivity, quality, scrap, rework, labor utilization, and delivery performance.
  • Assist leadership with operational planning, capacity discussions, budgeting, and facility growth initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary operational leader for the Houston manufacturing site and provide hands-on support during periods of high production demand or operational escalation.

Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Industrial Technology, or related discipline preferred; equivalent manufacturing leadership experience will also be considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing, production, or operations experience within industrial, power systems, energy, electrical equipment, fabrication, or heavy manufacturing environments.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of leadership experience managing production, manufacturing, or plant operations teams.
  • Proven ability to lead hands-on manufacturing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong floor leadership presence with the ability to work closely with supervisors, technicians, and production personnel on daily operational execution.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, production scheduling, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, throughput, productivity, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to balance tactical day-to-day operational leadership with longer-term operational planning and process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in high-growth or rapidly scaling environments.
  • Prior experience in a Site Manager, Plant Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager role.
  • Experience working within power generation, generator packaging, reciprocating engines, oil & gas equipment, or related industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing KPI reporting, labor utilization tracking, and operational budget management.
