SUMMARY

The General Manager will have profit and loss accountability and is responsible for the overall direction, sales, design, development and launch of products as well as administration of the products and services provided by the specific division(s) with a sales volume over 100 million dollars that he/she is responsible for.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage the overall operations and objective of the business unit(s).

Successful implementation of any Business Plan Objectives.

Grow the business unit through organic growth, including increased capabilities, development of product lines and market relationships while ensuring profitability.

Develop strategic and tactical plans for product design and development.

Develop strategic and tactical plans to improve operations, customer satisfaction, cash generation, productivity and return on investment.

Manage proposal efforts to assure compliance and competitive position.

Review and approve pricing for all products.

Develop the annual budget and meet the associated commitments. Monitor this in conjunction with the budget and finance manager.

Recommend annual program goals to senior management. Ensure that an ongoing evaluation system is in place related to such goals and that progress reports are provided on a regular basis.

The accurate, complete and timely submission of required financial reports, forecasts, quotations, budgets, rates, and analyses.

The cost-effective maintenance, development, and implementation of centralized services, systems, and management tools which support divisional operations and contribute to improved cost, quality, productivity, and a competitive position.

Provision of competent, responsive, financial counsel to the executive staff, providing necessary coordination with financial, legal, and compliance staff.

The acquisition and maintenance of skilled staff and resources necessary to meet functional charter obligations.

Maintain a safe work environment.

Responsible for formulating and articulating new business opportunities identified from customer information and problem resolutions.

Promote the mission, vision, and values in order to maintain a strong relationship with employees, AARs customers, suppliers and stockholders.

Manage labor relations, UAW contract compliance and negotiations.

Ensure that AAR policies and procedures are developed, updated, implemented, and followed.

Monitor customer service ratings and always improve.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent; or twelve years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
