Full Job Description
As a General Manager I, you are the captain of our Orlando facility. You will oversee, organize, and drive a line of business generating up to $19 million in revenue. This isn't a "sit behind a desk all day" kind of role. You'll be the champion of our local culture, the mastermind behind our route optimization, and the driving force behind profit and business expansion.

You'll lead a dedicated team of Facility Managers, Sales Professionals, Maintenance Experts, and Administrators, ensuring everyone is moving in the same direction-safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with Impact: Screen, hire, train, and mentor a high-performing team. You don't just manage; you build the next generation of GFL leaders.
  • Drive the Business: Own the facility's P&L statement. You'll analyze financial performance monthly, develop aggressive profit plans (ROA, EBITDA), and partner with sales to forecast future growth.
  • Optimize Operations: Stay ahead of the curve by utilizing cutting-edge routing software (like Route Smart) and logistics tech to ensure our fleet runs like clockwork.
  • Safety First, Always: Implement and champion our premier Safety Program. We work hard, but ensuring our team goes home safely every single day is our number one priority.
  • Be the Face of GFL: Build exceptional customer relationships, negotiate key contracts, and proudly represent GFL in local civic affairs and community events.

What You Bring to the Table
  • The Credentials: A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university, or a proven, rock-solid track record of operational leadership.
  • The Experience: 5+ years in the waste/environmental services industry is highly preferred (or an equivalent mix of education and exceptional management experience).
  • The Mindset: A sharp analytical mind paired with stellar communication skills. You can read a profit plan as easily as you can inspire a room full of drivers.
  • The Hustle: Willingness to travel occasionally to keep our regional footprint strong and aligned.

Working Conditions & Perks
  • Where You'll Be: A healthy mix! You'll spend about 80% of your time in a professional office environment, with the remaining 20% out in the field coaching your team and auditing operations (rain or shine!).
  • The Package: Competitive salary (Grade 15), comprehensive benefits, and a culture that rewards performance, innovation, and safety.

Ready to Make a Difference?

Green is more than just our corporate color-it's our mission. If you're ready to take the wheel of a thriving operation and make a tangible impact on the Orlando community, apply today to join the GFL family!

We thank you for your interest. Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
