Description
The Heavy Rental General Manager is responsible for setting and achieving the Machine Division Heavy Rental Fleet's short and long-term strategic plans in alignment with the company's Vision, Mission, and Values.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong strategic planning and tactical execution skills, with a demonstrated passion for personal and team development leading to successful outcomes for internal and external customers.
The Heavy Rental Fleet delivers value to customers through short term rental, and return to stakeholders through rental fleet asset management. The General Manager is responsible for Heavy Rental customer service process development and execution, rental fleet asset management including fleet planning, acquisition, and disposition, and rental fleet maintenance processes and management. An intimate understanding of rental fleet customer service, rental fleet asset management, and a collaborative approach within dealer sales and service operations is required.

Key Responsibilities
• Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
• Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
• Understands customer needs in Heavy Rental and execute a strategy to build value for customers and return for stakeholders
• Leads the Heavy Rental Fleet's operational processes in customer service delivery, fleet asset management, and fleet maintenance
• Maintains and grows collaborative relationships across Machine sales and Service, Texas First Rentals and SITECH, the Caterpillar dealer network, and with customers
• Hires, trains, develops, evaluates and manages the human resources of the Heavy Rental Fleet to consistently exceed customer service, rental revenue, and return on investment targets
• Work safely always and adhere to all applicable safety policies; complying with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
• Strong rental fleet asset management knowledge required
• Cross functional experience within dealership operations including Sales, Product Support, and Services delivery and the ability to align teams to achieve business objectives
• Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources
• Critical thinking skills to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present formally before both small and large groups

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
• Minimum of eight years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience required
• Previous demonstrated experience in leadership and operational management experience required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Travel:• Routinely out of the office, with overnight stays of 20% expected
• Valid driver's license required

Work Environment:• This job is generally performed indoors in a professional office environment
• Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity; additional outdoor conditions may include damp/wet surfaces, hazardous materials, flammable liquids, high noise areas, dust, and unfavorable fumes and vapors
• Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
