Logistics Operation Manager - A Logistics Operation Manager oversees all aspects of a distribution facility's operations, coordinating shipping and receiving, ensuring quality, managing staff, and optimizing processes to achieve efficiency and meet production goals.
What you will do on a typical day:
Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop and implement production schedules and plans to meet customer demand and deadlines.
- Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely completion.
- Manage inventory levels to minimize costs and ensure timely availability of materials.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control systems and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly.
Staff Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse Forklift, Material Handler and Supervisors.
- Hire, train, and evaluate employees.
- Address employee issues and concerns.
- Administer disciplinary actions and set corrective behavior goals.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and equipment.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all safety regulations and procedures are followed.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
What you should have:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field is often required.
• Experience: Several years of experience in manufacturing operations, ideally in a leadership role.
