General Manager, you will lead all food service operations for a our new partnership with
300-bed ArchCare skilled nursing and long-term care community in Staten Island, NY, overseeing approximately
$2 million in annual revenue and a team of
six direct reports. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for operational performance, client satisfaction, financial results, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and resident satisfaction.
The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare dining or long-term care leadership experience, a passion for serving seniors, and the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, clients, and clinical partners while leading within a union environment. You will play a critical role in delivering exceptional resident experiences and ensuring operational excellence across a complex healthcare dining operation.
Compensation DataCOMPENSATION: The Salaried rate for this position is $90,000 to $100,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership- Plan, manage, and direct all food service operations to achieve operational, financial, and client objectives.
- Lead a large, complex healthcare dining operation serving multiple resident populations with varying dietary and service needs.
- Ensure consistent execution of service standards, operational procedures, and resident dining expectations.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that improve resident satisfaction, employee engagement, service quality, and overall performance.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout the communities and dining operations.
- Support ongoing enhancement of resident dining programs and service offerings.
Client & Resident Relationship Management- Serve as the primary operational contact for client leadership and maintain strong partnerships with community stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, clinical teams, and community leadership.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve satisfaction, operational performance, and resident experiences.
- Communicate operational performance, service initiatives, and continuous improvement plans to clients.
- Address resident, family, and client concerns promptly and professionally.
Financial Management- Manage budgets, labor, productivity, purchasing, and operational expenses.
- Analyze financial performance and implement action plans to optimize profitability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure resources are aligned to support resident satisfaction while meeting financial objectives.
- Partner with finance and support teams to manage forecasting and performance reporting.
Compliance, Regulatory & Safety Leadership- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with CMS, Department of Health, OSHA, wage and hour, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure operations remain survey-ready at all times and support successful regulatory inspections.
- Maintain all required records, audits, reports, and compliance documentation.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Leadership & Team Development- Lead, coach, and develop a management team that may include an Executive Chef, Chef Manager, clinical partners, and frontline supervisors.
- Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, recognition, and professional development.
- Utilize coaching and performance management tools to strengthen leadership capability and employee performance.
- Ensure managers and employees are properly trained and equipped to execute their responsibilities.
- Build effective working relationships within a union environment while maintaining positive employee relations.
Healthcare Dining Leadership- Ensure food service operations meet the needs of skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, memory care, and dementia residents.
- Partner closely with clinical teams to support regulatory compliance and resident nutrition goals.
- Ensure dining programs are aligned with resident expectations and therapeutic dietary requirements.
- Support operational excellence across dining room service, tray service, and resident meal delivery programs.
QualificationsRequired- Significant leadership experience within healthcare dining, senior living, skilled nursing, long-term care, hospitality, or another highly regulated service environment.
- Experience managing operational performance, client relationships, budgets, labor, and financial results.
- Demonstrated success leading through managers and developing high-performing teams.
- Certified Dietary Manager
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable interacting directly with residents, clients, families, and community leadership.
Preferred- Degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or senior living leadership experience.
- Experience managing large-scale food service operations.
- Experience in a union environment.
- Experience supporting startup, transition, or change-management initiatives.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, healthcare food service compliance, and survey readiness.
Physical DemandsThis role may require extended periods of standing and walking, as well as occasional lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
