Full Job Description
Lead a strong media market. Develop great people. Grow the business. Make an impact in the community.

This is an opportunity for a proven media leader to take the reins of an established and respected group of radio and digital media brands, lead a talented team, and build on a strong foundation of audience, community relationships, and revenue potential.

Our St. Joseph and Maryville market includes KFEQ (AM), KKJO, KSJQ, KESJ (AM), KYSJ-AM, and KBCT, along with our leading digital news platforms, St. Joseph Post and Maryville Post.

The market has a lot going for it: powerful stations, award-winning on-air and programming talent, an experienced sales team, established community relationships, and significant opportunity for continued growth. We're looking for a hands-on leader who can bring all of those pieces together, strengthen our digital approach, and take the market to the next level.

This Isn't Just a Management Job

We're looking for someone who wants to lead, build and grow.

The successful candidate will have the business acumen to manage budgets and drive revenue, the leadership skills to develop and motivate a talented team, and the entrepreneurial mindset to identify opportunities others may overlook.

Just as importantly, you'll be joining an employee-owned company. At Eagle Communications, culture matters. Our employees have a stake in the success of the company, and our leaders are expected to create an environment where people are challenged, supported, developed, and proud of the work they do.

If you're a visible, energetic leader who enjoys working alongside your team, developing people, building client relationships, embracing digital opportunities, and finding new ways to grow a business, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

What You'll Lead

People & Culture
  • Lead a diverse team spanning sales, programming, news, and operations.
  • Set clear expectations, establish measurable goals, and create accountability across the market.
  • Recruit, hire, coach, mentor, and develop talented professionals.
  • Build a collaborative, high-performing culture grounded in the values of an employee-owned company.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on, engaged leadership style.
  • Foster collaboration across radio, news, digital, and sales to create a unified market strategy.

Business & Financial Performance
  • Take ownership of the market's financial performance and operating budget.
  • Develop strategies to achieve and exceed revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities across radio, digital, events, sponsorships, and integrated marketing solutions.
  • Monitor performance, recognize trends, and make informed business decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with FCC regulations, broadcasting standards, and company policies

Sales & Revenue Growth
  • Lead and support an experienced sales team in achieving revenue goals.
  • Develop strategies to attract new advertisers while strengthening relationships with existing clients.
  • Encourage creative solutions that help local businesses achieve their goals through radio, digital, sponsorships, and other marketing opportunities.

Community Leadership
  • Be a visible and engaged representative of Eagle throughout the St. Joseph and Maryville communities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, businesses, organizations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Help ensure Eagle remains an important and trusted part of the communities we serve.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a leader who combines business results with people skills.

You should have:
  • A proven record of successfully leading teams and developing future leaders.
  • Demonstrated success achieving or exceeding financial and budgetary objectives.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and motivating successful sales professionals.
  • Media sales or media management experience, preferably in a comparable market.
  • Strong business acumen and an entrepreneurial approach to identifying and pursuing opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • A hands-on, accountable leadership style.
  • The ability to build trust and strong relationships with employees, clients, and community partners.
  • A strong desire to succeed and the ability to turn strategy into action.
  • Experience with Marketron and VCreative is beneficial.

Why Eagle Media?

At Eagle, we're not simply looking for someone to manage a group of stations, we're looking for someone who wants to build something.

Our radio stations are a key part of the St. Joseph community, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a close-knit team with the chance to make a real impact on the local media landscape.

If you're an experienced media leader who sees opportunities where others see obstacles, and you're ready to make a meaningful impact, we'd love to talk with you!
