The General Manager will lead all day-to-day operations for ALC's business unit with full responsibility for safety, people leadership, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and profitability.
This leader will oversee service, projects, construction execution, sales, estimating, field operations, and administrative functions while building a high-performance culture focused on accountability and growth. The role requires a hands-on operator who understands the Missouri Construction market and can drive both operational discipline and commercial expansion.
This position reports to the Regional VP of Operations.
Key Responsibilities- Own full P&L performance including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and working capital.
- Lead service, projects, construction, and field operations to ensure execution excellence.
- Develop and implement strategic growth plans across service, retrofit, and project business lines.
- Build and mentor a strong leadership team across operations, sales, and support functions.
- Improve technician recruiting, retention, productivity, and workforce planning.
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers while expanding key accounts and new business opportunities.
- Ensure pricing discipline, estimating accuracy, project controls, and margin protection.
- Drive safety culture and compliance across all field and office operations.
- Establish KPIs and operational dashboards to improve accountability and decision making.
- Partner closely with Crete United leadership and sister companies on best practices and growth initiatives.
Qualifications- 10+ years of leadership experience in electrical contracting, mechanical contracting, or MEP services.
- Prior General Manager, Operations Manager, Branch Manager, or business unit leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success with P&L ownership and scaling revenue/profitability.
- Strong understanding of service operations, construction/project execution, and sales management.
- Experience leading large teams across field and office functions.
- Strong customer-facing presence with the ability to win trust and grow relationships.
- Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, labor productivity, and margin management.
- High accountability, urgency, and leadership maturity.
- Familiarity with the Missouri construction market highly preferred.
