Full Job Description
P&L Leadership and Oversight: Assume a leadership role with a focus on strategic direction and management of the Contract Compression Business Unit Profit and Loss (P&L). This includes overseeing operational strategies, capital resource budget and usage, and financial performance across the business unit.
Strategic Vision and P&L Management: Develop and articulate a clear vision for the business unit's growth and profitability, implementing strategies to drive financial success and operational excellence.
Commercial Strategy Leadership: Lead sales team in developing and executing commercial strategies and solutions that align with customer requirements and exceed business goals.
Financial Performance: Achieve revenue, profitability, utilization, and budget targets, accelerating sales activities to grow the business's profitably.
Operational Oversight: Manage the repair and refurbishing facility in Alice, TX prepares and repairs make-ready compression units; and also managed the field operations team that services these same units on contract for client's operations.
Monthly Regional Review Development and Presentation: Regularly develop and present comprehensive monthly reviews for the business unit, encompassing operational performance, financial results, and strategic progress updates. This includes presenting to the Cooper executive team including CEO, CFO and COO.
Efficiency Initiatives: Implement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service quality, asset utilization, and reduce total supply chain costs in conjunction with Corporate Operations.
Sales Target Achievement: Ensure the attainment of sales targets to achieve growth for the business unit.
Problem Solving and Objective Development: Utilize experience and expertise to address challenges, develop and execute objectives for the sales and ops teams.
Safety Compliance: Actively promote and drive compliance with Safety for the business unit.
KPIs and Reporting: Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to provide insights into fleet utilization, fleet operational performance, capex resource management, and overall shop and field delivery and contract performance. Identify process improvements to meet or exceed KPIs.
Required Skills and Experience:
Educational Qualification: BS degree in Engineering, Management, Business, or a related field. MBA preferred.
Extensive Sales and Ops Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, account management, commercial and/or field operations leadership roles.
Industry-Specific Experience: A strong preference for at least 10 years of experience in the gas compression sector, with strong performance with that experience being in contract compression businesses.
Leadership and P&L Management: At least 3 years of experience in Sales and Operations Management with P&L responsibility for a business/unit, and management of diverse functional teams.
Technical Knowledge: In-depth working understanding of high-speed engine-compressor product lines, including Ajax, CAT, Superior, and/or Waukesha products.
Proven Track Record in Growth Strategy Implementation: Demonstrable experience in successfully implementing growth strategies, with a clear record of achieving turnaround and substantial growth in previous roles.
Expertise in Scaling Operations: Proven ability to scale up operations effectively, leading to significant growth and expansion.
Market Analysis and Strategic Planning: Strong skills in conducting comprehensive market analysis and strategic planning to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities.
