The General Manager Business Development will play a pivotal role in driving Goodyear Retail's strategic growth, by spearheading innovative revenue-generating initiatives, partnerships, and market strategies. This leadership position will focus on overseeing retail operations for strategic fleet accounts on behalf of Goodyear Retail - Ensuring the profitability and operational success of fleet account locations, while consistently meeting or exceeding contractual objectives.

The incumbent will also be responsible for building and developing high-performing teams (including recruiting, training and mentoring Field Management and Project Management teams). In collaboration with the Goodyear Leadership team, he/she will identify opportunities for growth (including overseeing new store openings and evaluating the performance of existing locations to optimize business outcomes).

This role demands a blend of strong operational expertise, strategic vision, and exceptional collaboration skills. The associate will excel in driving self-directed work, managing complex projects (involving multiple stakeholders) and providing high-level troubleshooting (across assigned areas). A deep understanding of performance metrics and data analysis will be essential, as will the ability to recommend and implement operational improvements. In addition, the General Manager Business Development will be responsible for establishing and achieving profitability goals for strategic fleet accounts, with a focus on continuous problem-solving and delivering solutions when targets are not met.

Job Duties / Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Oversee relationships with strategic fleet accounts - Ensuring the profitability and operation success of fleet account locations while consistently meeting or exceeding contractual objectives


  • Responsible for overseeing other aspects of Retail fleet business to include National Accounts, FMC's, local, Final Mile, TNC, and Government.


  • Develop and nurture B2B relationships that provide growth and profit opportunities for Retail.


  • Develop the customer journey for Retail from the customer's first interaction with the brand to post purchase follow-ups.


  • Manage the real estate process of store openings and closings. Ensure we are opening stores in profitable locations and there is partnership/cross-collaboration when deciding the timing of closing a store - Making certain that it is communicated timely/effectively.


  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and presentations to highlight real estate trends and fleet account performance - Effectively communicating key insights to Goodyear Leadership.


  • Develop/Implement recovery and action plans, while identifying and applying best practices across the region. Actively share successful strategies and insights with the Leadership team to drive continuous improvement.


KEY EXPERIENCE

  • 10 or more years of experience managing a Sales and/or Operational team(s).
  • Proven ability to develop annual operating plans, with clearly defined objectives.
  • Proven and consistent track record for meeting/exceeding operating targets.
  • Bachelor's degree, advanced degree preferred.


KEY SKILLS
  • Ability to travel 20-40% of the time.
  • Able to set high standards for self and others.
  • Ability to monitor progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation skills (written/verbal).
