Full Job Description

This role is in support of Cencora's global logistics and storage services marketed through our World Courier business.

Position Summary

World Courier is seeking an exceptional commercial and operational leader to take on the role of General Manager - Brokerage, North America. This is a high-impact regional leadership role with responsibility for leading and developing the Brokerage service line across North America, with a clear focus on performance, capability, customer outcomes, and growth.

The successful candidate will bring a strong mix of people leadership, commercial acumen, operational credibility, and P&L ownership, gained within a logistics, freight forwarding, specialty logistics, transportation, or broader supply chain environment. This is not intended to be a purely technical customs expert role, but it is important that the individual has developed their leadership experience in a sector where service execution, customer expectations, operational complexity, and regulated processes are central to success.

Candidates may have led a brokerage service line, a freight forwarding operation, a country or regional logistics business, or another specialist service offering within the broader logistics and supply chain sector. What matters most is the ability to lead a strategically important service business, develop teams, improve performance, and drive revenue growth in an environment where operational excellence and compliance both matter.

This role sits at the intersection of commercial growth, operational leadership, service line development, and customs/regulatory oversight. The successful leader will help shape the next phase of growth for Brokerage in North America by strengthening the customer proposition, improving scalability and service consistency, and ensuring the business is positioned to grow effectively across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Brokerage business across North America, with accountability for service line performance, team leadership, operational execution, and future growth.
  • Drive the commercial agenda for the business by identifying opportunities to expand revenue, strengthen the customer offering, and increase market impact.
  • Bring strong general management discipline to the role, balancing growth ambitions with service quality, operational efficiency, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide visible, credible leadership to teams across the region, building a culture of accountability, engagement, development, and high performance.
  • Lead the continued development of the brokerage service line, ensuring it is scalable, competitive, operationally effective, and aligned to broader business priorities.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Compliance, BI, Training, and global stakeholders to align brokerage priorities with broader business goals.
  • Improve service consistency, process effectiveness, and organizational capability across the North America brokerage network.
  • Oversee third-party and outsourced brokerage relationships where relevant, ensuring strong performance, effective partnership, and alignment to business standards.
  • Maintain a strong framework for customs compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory oversight across the region.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Profile / Requirements:

We are interested in senior leaders who have built their careers within logistics, freight forwarding, specialty logistics, transportation, supply chain, or similarly complex service-led operating environments. The successful candidate should bring meaningful experience from within the sector, rather than from a purely generalist commercial or corporate background.

They may come directly from a brokerage leadership role, or from a broader operational or commercial leadership role within freight forwarding, specialty logistics, or another closely related area of the supply chain market. What is important is that they understand how to lead in an environment where customer service, operational execution, commercial performance, and compliance need to work together.

The ideal profile will include:

  • A proven track record in senior leadership, general management, or service line leadership within logistics, freight forwarding, brokerage, specialty logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
  • Strong experience with P&L management, commercial strategy, and revenue growth in a sector-relevant operating environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams in a service-driven, operationally complex business.
  • Experience improving service delivery, efficiency, scalability, and performance within a logistics or supply chain setting.
  • The ability to build strong partnerships across commercial, operational, and functional stakeholders.
  • Confidence operating in a regulated environment where compliance, customer service, and business performance must go hand in hand.
  • Strong leadership presence, sound judgement, and the credibility to lead at pace in a visible regional role.

Customs brokerage expertise remains highly relevant, and candidates with direct brokerage leadership experience will naturally be of interest. However, the brief is intentionally broader than a hands-on customs specialist profile and is equally targeted at leaders from adjacent parts of the logistics and supply chain sector who can bring the right mix of sector credibility, commercial strength, people leadership, and operational excellence.
