Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager will be accountable for the financial, commercial, operational, and technical performance of the EHS Consulting division. The successful candidate will drive profitable growth, strengthen operational consistency, build leadership and technical capability, and connect EHS Consulting with Bravo Target Safety's broader client offering.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced business leader to shape the future of an established technical consulting division and contribute to Bravo Target Safety's continued growth.

Principal Accountabilities:

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Own the division's profit and loss, including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, budgets, forecasts, working capital, and accounts receivable.
  • Establish commercial standards for pricing, estimates, rate structures, contract terms, and agreement renewals to protect profitability and manage commercial risk.
  • Review the profitability of projects, locations, and service lines and take timely corrective action where performance is below expectations.

Client & Business Growth

  • Develop and execute the divisional sales plan while strengthening relationships with key and prospective clients.
  • Lead major business pursuits and identify opportunities to expand EHS services across industries, service lines, and geographic markets.
  • Collaborate across Bravo Target Safety to create opportunities for coordinated safety, emergency response, and EHS consulting solutions.

Operational & Technical Excellence

  • Lead consistent operations across all locations by establishing common processes for project setup, resource planning, service delivery, reporting, invoicing, and project closeout.
  • Establish and monitor chargeability and utilization targets by position and service line.
  • Ensure EHS consulting services comply with applicable legislation, regulations, professional standards, client requirements, and internal quality expectations.
  • Maintain the professional registrations, certifications, permits, and client prequalification required to operate in each jurisdiction.

People & Leadership

  • Establish clear roles, performance expectations, and decision-making accountabilities across the leadership team.
  • Lead and develop Group Managers and Senior Technical Leads while supporting effective recruitment, performance management, employee development, retention, and succession planning. The role is responsible for around 50 people across 4 different offices in Canada.
  • Champion a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

  • Revenue, gross margin, and EBITDA delivered against plan.
  • Chargeability, utilization, and rate realization achieved against established targets.
  • Working capital, aged receivables, and work-in-progress conversion maintained within target.
  • Profitable growth across service lines, markets, and key client accounts.
  • Projects delivered safely, profitably, on time, and to required technical and quality standards.
  • Professional registrations, certifications, permits, and client prequalifications maintained.
  • Retention of key technical employees and professional designation holders.
  • Leadership development and succession coverage established for critical roles.

Position Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business, science, engineering, or related discipline. A professional designation (P. Eng) or MBA is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience, including direct accountability for a profit and loss of comparable scale.
  • Demonstrated ownership of pricing, commercial terms, and client agreements, including negotiation and renewal.
  • Experience leading a multi-site or multi-office business with managers as direct reports.
  • A background in environmental health and safety, hazardous materials, occupational hygiene, or a related technical consulting field is strongly preferred.
