Company: Elektro Assemblies Location: Red Wing, Minnesota Position Type: Full-Time Reports To: Ownership / Executive Leadership

Position Summary

Elektro Assemblies is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and results-driven General Manager to lead the company through its next phase of growth.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of aggressively and profitably growing a business or business unit, while building a strong team, developing customers, improving financial performance, and creating accountability throughout the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership position with responsibility for the overall performance of the business. The General Manager will have significant responsibility for P&L management, sales and marketing, financial performance, operations, customer relationships, strategic planning, and organizational development.

We are looking for a leader who is charismatic, personable, approachable, dynamic, firm, and fair. The successful candidate will be comfortable making decisions, holding people accountable, developing talent, and communicating a clear vision for the future.

A strong background in sales and marketing, financial management, and business development is highly desirable. Experience with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and the Traction methodology is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Business Leadership & Growth
  • Own the overall performance and growth of the business.
  • Develop and execute a clear strategy for aggressive, sustainable, and profitable growth.
  • Identify new markets, customers, products, channels, and business opportunities.
  • Establish measurable growth objectives and hold the organization accountable for achieving them.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
  • Build a culture focused on growth, accountability, customer service, quality, and profitability.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and competitive conditions and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Ensure the company remains focused on the highest-value opportunities.

P&L & Financial Management
  • Take ownership of the company's financial performance and P&L.
  • Establish budgets, forecasts, financial targets, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, EBITDA/profitability, working capital, and cash flow.
  • Analyze financial performance and take corrective action when results fall below expectations.
  • Develop strategies to improve margins and profitability.
  • Understand the financial impact of operational, pricing, customer, and strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with ownership and financial leadership to ensure accurate reporting and financial accountability.
  • Establish and monitor key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Ensure growth translates into profitable growth, not simply increased revenue.

Sales & Marketing
  • Lead the development and execution of the company's sales and marketing strategy.
  • Develop a strong sales pipeline and establish measurable sales objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing customer relationships and acquire new customers.
  • Work closely with sales leadership to establish accountability for revenue and margin performance.
  • Develop pricing strategies that support both growth and profitability.
  • Strengthen the company's market position and value proposition.
  • Maintain relationships with key customers and participate in important customer meetings.
  • Establish a sales-driven culture throughout the organization.

Operations & Organizational Performance
  • Provide leadership and direction across all major functions of the business.
  • Ensure operations are aligned with customer requirements and financial objectives.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Ensure the right people are in the right positions.
  • Develop managers and future leaders.
  • Address performance issues directly, fairly, and consistently.
  • Promote cross-functional teamwork and communication.

EOS / Traction
  • Lead the organization using the principles of EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) and Traction.
  • Establish and maintain clear company goals, priorities, and accountability.
  • Effectively utilize tools such as Rocks, Scorecards, Level 10 Meetings, Issues Lists, and quarterly planning.
  • Create organizational alignment around the company's vision and strategic priorities.
  • Establish a culture of execution and accountability.
  • Ensure that initiatives are completed rather than simply discussed.

Leadership & Culture

The General Manager must be a strong people leader who can establish trust while maintaining high expectations.

The successful candidate will be:
  • Dynamic - brings energy, urgency, and momentum to the organization.
  • Charismatic - naturally attracts and motivates people.
  • Personable - builds strong relationships with employees, customers, and partners.
  • Approachable - creates an environment where people feel comfortable bringing forward ideas and problems.

  • Decisive - makes informed decisions and takes ownership of the results.
  • Entrepreneurial - sees opportunities and acts on them.
  • Results-oriented - focuses on measurable business outcomes.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of demonstrated P&L management experience for a product line, business unit, or company generating approximately $10 million or more in annual revenue.
  • Proven track record of growing revenue while increasing or protecting profitability.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial performance and making decisions based on financial data.

  • Experience with strategic planning, pricing, margin improvement, and customer development.
  • Experience working with private ownership or an entrepreneurial organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, or a related field is preferred but not required based on experience.

What Success Looks Like

During the first 12-24 months, the successful General Manager will:
  • Establish a clear and executable growth strategy.
  • Increase revenue while maintaining a strong focus on profitability.
  • Improve financial visibility and accountability.
  • Develop a healthy and measurable sales pipeline.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers.
  • Build a high-performing leadership team.
  • Establish clear KPIs and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Implement and consistently utilize EOS/Traction disciplines.
  • Improve operational performance and organizational execution.
  • Build a culture where people understand what is expected, take ownership, and deliver results.

Leadership Philosophy

The ideal General Manager understands that growth and accountability go hand in hand.

This leader should be capable of creating an environment where people enjoy coming to work, feel respected and valued, and understand that high performance is expected.

The right candidate will be equally comfortable sitting with a major customer discussing a growth opportunity, reviewing a P&L with ownership, working with a sales team on a pipeline, or challenging an operational team to improve performance.

This is a leadership role for someone who wants to build a business, not simply manage one.
