General Manager - Marriott Hotel
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation and performance of the hotel, ensuring excellence in guest service, financial results, employee engagement, and Marriott brand standards. This leader will inspire a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence while maximizing profitability and maintaining a positive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all hotel operations while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and service excellence. Drive revenue growth while effectively managing expenses and profitability. Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing leadership team. Ensure full compliance with Marriott brand standards and company policies. Oversee sales, revenue management, food and beverage, housekeeping, engineering, and front office operations. Monitor guest feedback and implement strategies to continuously improve guest satisfaction scores. Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans. Foster a positive, engaging, and team-oriented workplace culture. Maintain strong relationships with ownership, vendors, and community partners. Ensure compliance with all safety, human resources, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
A minimum of five years of General Manager experience with Marriott or a comparable full-service hotel is required. Candidates must demonstrate proven success in hotel operations, financial management, and team leadership. Strong knowledge of Marriott systems and brand standards is preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to improve guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance while creating a culture of excellence.
