Full Job Description
Location: Baltimore Metro Area, Maryland

Classification: Exempt, Full-Time

ROLE SUMMARY

The General Manager owns the day-to-day operations and ongoing performance of the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC) programs for an assigned health system client. Partnering closely with health system leadership and providers, this leader identifies, designs, and implements strategies that drive program growth and success. Through management of all on-site Tulea Health personnel and collaboration with corporate clinical leadership, the General Manager ensures every program and service meets quality, safety, and accreditation standards - while delivering the compassionate, extraordinary care that earns high levels of patient, provider, and customer satisfaction. This role is accountable for exceeding all clinical, operational, and financial goals for the assigned client and is ideal for a hands-on leader who is energized by building and growing a high-performing operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Hire, develop, and manage the on-site team of clinicians and support personnel, and design staffing models that support the required volume, service, and quality of care
  • Oversee daily operations of all departments across the AICs, pharmacies, and other locations where team members operate
  • Implement inventory management, dispensing, and infusion workflows that support safe, high-quality care while maintaining inventory integrity and security
  • Develop goals, strategies, and objectives to achieve program growth and ongoing success
  • Participate in development of the annual operating budget, monitor ongoing performance, and ensure achievement of revenue and expense goals
  • Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to improve performance
  • Foster a culture of safety, reporting, and continuous quality improvement
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with health system providers and stakeholders
  • Drive the ongoing program governance model, including quarterly business reviews with key customers and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure care and services are delivered in compliance with applicable laws, rules, requirements, accreditation standards, and internal policies and procedures, and coordinate performance improvement and quality activities according to laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements
  • Serve as a backup pharmacist for receipt, inventory management, and dispensing of pharmaceutical products through the AIC-associated pharmacy as required

  • Are a licensed pharmacist in the state of Maryland
  • Have 3+ years of demonstrated experience establishing and managing infusion services, ambulatory infusion, and/or specialty pharmacy services; experience developing ambulatory infusion center operations is strongly preferred
  • Bring knowledge of health system pharmacy operations and experience managing customer relationships
  • Are a strong leader who coaches and develops team members while fostering a collaborative, supportive culture
  • Apply exceptional critical thinking to proactively identify, assess, and overcome business challenges
  • Possess the business acumen - and an entrepreneurial approach - to achieve program growth and financial goals; business development skills are a plus
    Collaborate effectively with internal and external customers to promote quality care and outstanding service
  • Communicate with impact, including active listening, speaking, and effective writing, and can organize a multi-faceted workload for efficient use of time

REQUIREMENTS & PREFERENCES
  • PharmD or BSPharm from an ACPE-accredited program
  • Current, unrestricted licensure with the Maryland Board of Pharmacy (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Minimum of two years of clinical pharmacy experience (infusion, specialty pharmacy, or ambulatory care setting preferred)
  • Minimum of three years' experience managing a team of healthcare professionals
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred
  • Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Ability to work on-site, and travel between, the assigned client locations
  • Active and unrestricted driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle Monday through Friday

COMPENSATIONBase salary of $185,000 to $215,000 plus an annual performance bonus eligibility

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position operates in a normal pharmacy and clinic environment with occasional exposure to hazardous waste materials, toxins, and hazardous pharmaceuticals. The role requires the ability to frequently push, pull, or lift objects up to 20 pounds (seldom up to 50 pounds); constantly stand, walk, and sit; frequently type and perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination; frequently see objects closely for reading; and constantly hear normal sound with some background noise. This role also has travel requirements between multiple clinics, which will require an active and unrestricted driver's license. In addition, the role may require overnight travel outside of state on occasion for leadership meetings, training, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
