Position Summary

LCI is seeking a highly skilled and analytical General Engineer / Architect who will provide comprehensive engineering design, architectural oversight, and construction administration services for multi-scale military facilities. This position oversees sustainment, restoration, modernization, and new construction projects from initial planning phases through final physical delivery. The professional coordinates technical logistics, evaluates field progress, and advises project managers on design constructability to ensure infrastructure aligns with rigid engineering standards and regulatory guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive construction administration, including quality assurance field checks and schedule compliance monitoring.
  • Formulate technical specifications, project requirements, and detailed cost estimations for design and construction initiatives.
  • Review complex project submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and engineering record files.
  • Analyze project claims, variance requests, and proposed structural or design modifications.
  • Conduct strict design constructability reviews during the planning phases of major infrastructure projects.
  • Deliver multi-disciplinary technical expertise across civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines.
  • Document administrative program files, project processes, and organize multi-year construction history archives.
  • Support project proposals, third-party technical reviews, peer evaluation files, and comprehensive engineering test plans.
  • Facilitate formal project conferences, community relations efforts, risk communication briefs, and stakeholder alignment meetings.
  • Apply and track complex regulatory guidelines across changing federal, state, and institutional statutes.
  • Conduct business process analysis and research data gaps to provide strategic reach-back technical recommendations.
  • Communicate technical objectives clearly with construction teams, architectural partners, and executive project staff.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution in one of the following specific fields:
  • Engineering degree from an ABET-approved program.
  • Architecture degree from an NAAB-approved program.
  • Construction Management degree with a heavy focus on engineering principles and field practices.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in project design, facility construction, or comprehensive project development.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance.
  • Citizenship: United States citizenship is strictly required.
  • Licensing: Valid state-issued driver's license to travel independently across local construction and job sites..


Skill & Certification Requirements
  • Core Disciplines: Advanced conceptual knowledge of civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering concepts.
  • Technical Blueprint Analysis: Proficient in reading and interpreting multi-layered architectural and engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Project Administration: Expert capability to plan, organize, and lead multi-disciplinary teams through complex structural studies and construction life cycles.
  • Negotiation & Alignment: Strong capability to negotiate technical adjustments when proposals involve substantial capital or challenge established concepts.
  • Safety & Compliance: Full understanding of regulatory inspection protocols, risk reduction strategies, and construction industry safety procedures.
  • Software Tools: Mastery of administrative productivity tools including word processing, complex spreadsheet calculations, and project tracking databases.
  • Spatial Mapping Systems: Functional capability to interpret, reference, and navigate Geographical Information Systems (GIS)..
  • Highly proficient in business software applications (i.e.: Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and PowerPoint)
