Responsibilities

Full Job Description
The General Assembly Standards Specialist will communicate manufacturing standards and their applications across a complete family of vehicles. Collaborate with the Product Design Office in providing exciting styling while maintaining robust manufacturing requirements. The GA Standards Specialist will co-locate within PDO and Advanced Engineering teams to ensure Advance Manufacturing Engineering Product Standards are adhered to and architecture is feasible. Collect all manufacturing requirements and represent this to the product community early in the product development cycle. Maintain, update, and improve AME Product Standards to ensure their applications to future programs. GA Standards Specialist will enforce manufacturing standards during the complete product development cycle. Rapidly execute product standards violation issue discovery / issue communication / issue closure. Create and publish GA Process Maps before Program Approval. Develop Design to Manufacturing proposals for Capex Optimization and work with Advance Product and Process teams to implement them. Collaborate with Pre Advance Engineering teams on De-coupled projects and ensure manufacturing requirements are included for optimum solutions / decisions.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • 5 years' working in the automotive industry including the following knowledge / experience: General Assembly - sequence and process, station level analysis
  • Assembly Plant General Assembly experience including Tooling / Process for Unibody and Body on Frame architectures
  • Strong knowledge of CAD Systems such as Teamcenter and Vis Mockup
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product Design and Advanced Vehicle Engineering
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
  • Benchmarking experience and Vehicle launch experience. Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to drive change
