MIGA's Gender team is a part of Gender and Evaluation group within the Economics and Sustainability department (MIGES) under the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (MIGCS).

MIGA seeks to maximize the gender differentiated impacts of its projects. MIGA's prioritizes building on the foundation it laid to enhance effective gender interventions in the private sector. MIGA's Gender Team oversees the implementation of the WBG Gender Strategy [redacted], provides technical support to staff and clients, and supports staff training and capacity building.

To ensure successful and timely implementation of MIGA's gender ambitions, MIGA's Gender Team seeks to recruit a Gender Specialist with expertise in gender, gender analysis, gender interventions in the private sector, strategy implementation, and project management. The Gender Specialist will support MIGA and its Gender Team in its corporate, client engagement and partnerships activities. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic professional with experience on addressing gender and inclusion issues in the context of private sector operations, exceptional analytical skills, hands-on results measurement experience in the private sector, and a track record of managing processes working across teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Gender Specialist will contribute to MIGA's commitment toward operationalizing the [redacted] World Bank Group Gender Strategy and Implementation Plan. To do so, the Gender Specialist will it be expected to:
• Support MIGA's client gender engagement at the project level, including:
• Collaborative engagement with MIGA clients to determine their interest and capacity in undertaking gender actions to narrow gaps;
• Gender gap analysis at the sector/country level and identification of measurable client actions to narrow gender gaps;
• Close collaboration with MIGA project teams throughout the gender project lifecycle.
• Support the Gender Team in building its internal capacity on gender through the development of training materials to enhance MIGA staff's gender knowledge.
• Actively engage in gender working groups within the WBG, collaborate with the Knowledge Bank as well as with external partners.
• Support monitoring of gender Scorecard Indicators and target setting
• Provide support for ad hoc activities related to the operationalization of WBG Gender Strategy and Implementation Plan.

Selection Criteria
• Master's degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience in gender, social development, economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience working in a client-facing role, preferably in a private sector context. Demonstrated ability to understand client businesses, operating model and to identify appropriate gender interventions to support gender equality. Proven ability to engage with clients in a positive and service orientated manner. Experience working with financial services firms or on financial inclusion and/or with energy sector clients is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data and information to develop recommendations for clients related to gender.
• Excellent effective and persuasive verbal and written communication skills in English, including ability to communicate complex issues to a wide range of audiences.
• Ability to work independently on complex tasks on tight deadlines. Takes personal ownership and accountability to meet deadlines, achieve agreed-upon results, and has the personal organization to do so.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment in an international setting to influence and work constructively across teams to find effective solutions.
• Experience with Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), private sector, and/or strong understanding of UN (United Nations) system, frameworks, and structures, particularly those related to gender equality and women's empowerment, both at the corporate, client engagement and partnership levels.
• Fluency in written and oral English skills. Strong skills in French or Spanish an asset.
