Organization:
PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation CAD

Position Overview:
Responsible for providing clinical leadership to the genetic counseling staff in a state-approved prenatal diagnosis center serving all assigned clients. Oversees and participate in the counseling of patients on all genetically related matters including: risk assessment, overview of genetic testing, test results and implications, suggested follow-up and clinical trials enrollment. Works to continue to expand genetic testing and counseling services offered to patients. Responsible for maintaining professional relationships with referring clinicians, excellent patient service and educating both the community and clinical members on genetic counseling and testing updates. Contributes to the coordination and continuity of care and treatment of patients in an ambulatory setting.

EDUCATION:
  • Master's: Genetic Counseling


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
  • CGC-Certified Genetic Counselor
  • OR ABGC-American Board of Genetic Counseling


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE :
  • 6 year recent relevant experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Understanding of clinical applications and standards necessary to provide comprehensive, current genetic services and counseling.
Leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiar with input and data retrieval on computer database.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, good writing ability.
Knowledge and experience in the area of teamwork with health professionals.

Pay Range is $135,054.40 to $202,592.00 / annual salary

The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs.
