Job Identification

  • Department: Career and Technical Education (CTE)
  • Reports To: Associate Superintendent of CTE
  • Employment Type: Full-time. This position is considered to be a 0.90 full-time equivalent position and will work 234 days per year.


Position Summary

The FuturePREP'd K-8 Program Coordinator supports the Ottawa Area ISD Career and Technical Education department by developing, implementing, and expanding innovative career-connected learning opportunities for K-8 students and educators. Through Design Thinking, Project-Based Learning (PBL), and strong partnerships with local businesses and community organizations, this position promotes career awareness, educator capacity, and student engagement while supporting the implementation of FuturePREP'd programming throughout Ottawa Area ISD

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop, implement, and support FuturePREP'd programming for K-8 educators and students throughout the Ottawa Area ISD umbrella.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry representatives, and community organizations to create authentic career-connected learning experiences.
  • Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities for educators focused on Design Thinking, Project-Based Learning, and career-connected instructional practices.
  • Promote Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, career exploration opportunities, and workforce development initiatives across the ISD.
  • Expand and support the implementation of Skills4Success curriculum and related instructional resources.
  • Collaborate with local school districts to provide coaching, consultation, and implementation support for career-connected learning initiatives.
  • Develop instructional resources, tools, and programming aligned with district and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while monitoring timelines, deliverables, and program outcomes.
  • Build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support program growth and continuous improvement.
  • Represent Ottawa Area ISD and FuturePREP'd at meetings, workshops, conferences, and community events as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to program activities and partnerships.
  • Stay current on educational trends, workforce development initiatives, Design Thinking, Project-Based Learning, and career readiness best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience with Design Thinking and Project-Based Learning instructional practices required.
  • Elementary teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience developing curriculum or educational programming preferred.
  • Experience facilitating professional learning for adult educators preferred.

  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills for both small and large groups.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout school buildings, community locations, and event spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport instructional materials, equipment, and supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds with or without mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout Ottawa Area ISD and to community partner locations.
  • Frequent use of computers and standard office equipment.
  • Work is performed in office, classroom, school, and community settings with occasional evening or off-site meetings and professional development activities.


Compensation & Employment Details
  • Pay range: $72,540-$93,600 commensurate with experience.
  • Schedule: Full-time. This position is considered to be a 0.90 full-time equivalent position and will work 234 days per year.
