Description

Pono Aina Management LLC is currently seeking a Future Capabilities Program Support Specialist (FCPS) to join their team. This high-profile and strategic role leads the coordination and project management of all future capability upgrades, spiral developments, and new system integrations for the Royal Australian Air Force's F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler fleets. The position acts as the primary liaison between the Australian Liaison Office, NAVAIR PMA-265, Boeing, and other U.S. industry partners. The successful candidate will ensure that upcoming capability enhancements are effectively planned, tracked, and delivered to meet RAAF's long-term operational and strategic requirements in a complex, multi-year international acquisition environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical and business management of complex future capability upgrade programs and increment/system insertions
  • Coordinate with PMA-265, Boeing, and other U.S. agencies on contracting timelines, technical data packages, kit deliveries, and associated risks
  • Monitor the configuration status and delivery schedules of current and future weapon systems and platform capabilities
  • Provide timely advance notification and detailed impact analysis (scope, cost, schedule, and risk) to RAAF stakeholders
  • Support RAAF capability roadmap planning and decision-making processes
  • Track and manage all future capabilities-related Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Technical Directives (TDs), and program documentation
  • Facilitate technical and programmatic meetings, briefings, and working groups with U.S. and Australian stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate program risks, issues, and opportunities affecting future capability delivery
  • Develop high-quality briefing materials, program status reports, and decision support documentation for senior leadership


Mandatory Requirements:
  • U.S. or Australian Citizenship
  • Current or ability to obtain a U.S. SECRET clearance (or Australian AGSVA equivalent)
  • Significant experience in the operation, maintenance, acquisition, or sustainment of tactical military aircraft (F/A-18 experience highly preferred)
  • Strong project management and coordination skills in a defence program setting


Important Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management, Aviation, or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated understanding of U.S. DoD and USN acquisition processes
  • Experience with spiral development or incremental capability upgrade programs
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (especially Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)


Physical Requirements:
  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Requires the ability to walk short distances.
  • Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
