Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Director, Walk to End Alzheimer's will serve as one of the strategic lead for the Association's signature event, Walk to End Alzheimer's. This would include field support, training and resources for staff and volunteers and strategies to grow teams and fundraising dollars.

This position is a remote based and travel is up to 70%.

Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate as a team member of the Home Office Walk to End Alzheimer's team overseeing revenue growth and strategies.
    • Oversee national program for Walk to End Alzheimer's including training, resources and strategies for the Chapter network and volunteers.

  • Develop and deliver training and consultation to Territories, Chapters and Co-horts.

    • Participate as one of the leads for the Walk to End Alzheimer's team, working with the field to deliver training, identify opportunities and work directly with them on growth plans, strategies and tactics within our event standards and best practices.
    • Develop plan for nationwide, regional and local training for staff and volunteers.
    • Manage development and delivery of comprehensive training curriculum including but not limited to web-based tools, on-the-ground specialty programs, and weekly sessions.
    • Lead consulting and training efforts with assigned walk programs.
    • Lead development of nationwide on-boarding and training curriculum for Walk to End Alzheimer's including face to face training, web based trainings and additional resources and support.

  • Monitor, evaluate and identify growth opportunities as part of planning and ongoing process.

    • Monitor, analyze and determine strategies based on quantitative and qualitative results (data analysis or other).

  • Oversee all resources and materials for Walk to End Alzheimer's


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years national or regional event management and training experience required in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience implementing $1M+ Walk, recruiting C suite to lead Walk and sold top level sponsorships.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and coaching staff
  • VHA local or regional executive leadership experience preferred.
  • Successful candidate must have organized Walk event experience, but have the skills to adapt program experience into a program appropriately to our organization.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
  • Effectively multi-task, establish priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Extremely efficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills. Capable of handling diversified assignments and highly adaptable.
  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. (Includes presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.)
  • Ability to work and make judgments independently and take initiative. Self-starter, requiring little supervision.
  • Understanding of various computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Experience with Luminate a major plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of time as required.

Position Grade & Compensation: Grade 511 The Alzheimer's Association's good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $140,000 - $165,000. This position is eligible for a bonus based on both individual and organizational performance, up to 6%.
