Full Job Description
Position Summary
The Underwriting Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating the activities of underwriting staff related to fund finance opportunities. Their goal is to achieve department objectives and ensure company profitability through new and existing business.

What will your job entail?

Job Responsibilities: • Develop and implement underwriting strategies, policies, and guidelines for product lines, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and profitability. • Analyze complex information from various sources (financial documents, market data, etc.) to evaluate risk levels associated with insuring individuals or entities. - Analyze and underwrite fund finance structures, including rated feeder funds, CFOs, and NAV lending facilities.
  • Build and maintain Excel models to evaluate cash flow structures and collateral performance.
  • Apply and interpret rating agency methodologies (Moody's, S&P, Fitch), highlighting sensitivities, structural strengths, and key risk factors.
  • Support the underwriting workflow by preparing detailed credit memos, risk assessments, and rating agency-style reports.
  • Collaborate with senior underwriters to ensure transaction analysis aligns with internal frameworks and partner expectations.
  • Conduct scenario and stress testing across multiple rating assumptions.
  • Track market developments in fund finance, including rating agency updates, regulatory changes, and investor trends.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related field.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in fund finance, structured credit, or a related rating agency/analytical role.
Knowledge, Ability, Skills:
    • Strong familiarity with rated feeders, CFOs, or NAV lending facilities.
    • Experience with rating agency methodologies and the ability to interpret and apply them in underwriting.
    • Proficiency in Excel-based modeling and credit analysis.
    • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical findings.
    • Driven self-starter and capable of working independently.
    • Handles pressure well and capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

The target salary range for this position is $239,200.00 - $299,000.00 annually.

The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
